Raphael Rene Yoho Fils

Specialist in international human rights law

CAA Promoter Raphael Rene Yoho Fils has over 20 years of experience in the protection and promotion of human rights. He worked with the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo from May 2004 to December 2023, where he coordinated several human rights offices in the field, including Goma in eastern DRC, the Institutional Strengthening and Reform Unit of the Joint Human Rights Office, and chaired the Joint Human Rights Office's Working Group on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ESCR) for over 10 years.

A former magistrate, Raphael is also a human rights trainer for the OHCHR and holds a postgraduate degree in diplomatic studies and international relations from the Center for Diplomatic and Strategic Studies in Paris, a master's degree in international legal studies from the American University Washington College of Law (Washington, D.C.) with a specialization in international human rights protection, as well as numerous other diplomas and certifications from various prestigious institutions around the world.

He specializes in ethical governance issues, including the definition of CSR strategies, the support and management of CSR projects, from diagnosis to the development of action plans and deployment, evaluation and performance measurement systems, as well as impact management assessment.

He has collaborated in the DRC with Global Compact, the Federation of Congolese Enterprises, Afrewatch, and REGED, among others.

His areas of interest include business and human rights, human rights and environmental due diligence, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), economic, social, and cultural rights, social auditing, and political and economic governance.

He is the Executive Director of the Corporate Accountability Agency.
